The Department of Texas Magazine is the 2022 winner of the National VFW Grand Award which is the highest award for Veteran of Foreign Wars publications. The Texas VFW has held this title more than a dozen times and strive to bring the best veteran content and showcase why the VFW is one of the best veteran-based organizations still to date.
VFW Impact to Veterans & Local Communities
The purpose of the VFW is to provide comradeship between our veteran members, support local communities and veteran organizations, and provide other resources to veterans and their families. While most veterans are silent charity warriors, we look to highlight their everyday efforts and how community events became family events within our publications.
