Annual State Convention
Held annually in June, the Department of Texas VFW State Convention is a time for comradeship across the state as members, delegates and Line Officers come together for VFW Business Meetings, Joint Memorial and Opening, Elections, and Installation of incoming Officers. We are also joined by the Texas VFW Auxiliary, Texas VFW Foundation and a National representative of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
About the Convention
Thursday is the official kick-off day to the State Convention. Open to all members and joined by the Texas VFW & Auxiliary, the Joint Memorial Service is a time to pay tribute to fallen and those that are still serving the greater good of the organization, local communities and country.
Throughout the Convention, you will have access to:
- Veteran Service Officers to assist with claims
- Career & Health Fair
- United States Veteran Service Dogs
- National VFW Store
- Buddy Poppy Displays
- Event Vendors

VFW members will have the opportunity to participate in the following:
- Open Council of Administration Meeting
- Joint Memorial & Opening
- VFW Bylaws & Resolutions for Review
- Business Meeting, Nominations & Elections
- Texas VFW Awards Banquet
- Joint Installation of Officers
Following the Joint Installation, the State Commander & Auxiliary President’s Reception closes out the Convention.

With the State Convention being held in the DFW (North Texas) area, there are numerous sporting events, concerts, parks and other entertainment all around. Within a walking distance, there are other restaurants and attractions. A short drive west, in Arlington, is AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, Texas Live and Choctaw Stadium which are always bustling with events and live concerts.
